The following are websites that I regularly visit:

Victorian Gem Clubs Association
About the VGCA - Taken from the above website:

"Founded in 1967 as the Combined Victorian Gem Clubs Association, VGCA has been representing Victorian clubs in the evolution of consistent national rules and procedures to enable lapidary and allied crafts to freely flourish and for competitions to be possible at the national level. This work is entirely voluntary and over the years we have been very proud to have had VGCA members play significant roles in furthering this process. Each member club across Victoria may elect two delegates to the VGCA Committee and nominate members for executive positions. VGCA in turn is represented by delegates on the national body, the Australian Federation of Lapidary and Allied Craft Associations (AFLACA)."

Check out their website for more details.

Aussie Sapphire
A fantastic supplier of all things lapidary (and more!). This is where most of my equipment and supplies come from. Andrew and Leah are a fantastic help and their customer service is second to none!

Aussie Lapidary Forum
A forum full of lapidary enthusiasts, this forum is extremely helpful as everyone on their is willing to share their knowledge about everything from cabochon cutting, faceting, carving, jewellery making and more. It is run by the good people at Aussie Sapphire.

"The Aussie Lapidary Forum is for anyone interested in rocks & gems and is proudly sponsored by Aussie Sapphire. If you're a collector, lapidary, gemcutter or fossicker, you'll find something of interest here."

Another forum that is full of people willing to share their knowledge - This one is based in the US.

Ever wanted to learn more about gemstones? Try this FREE online course.

From the website:

"If you're interested in learning about gemology from a scientific rather than from a commercial or artistic viewpoint, then you are in the right place (not that either art or commerce are unimportant or will be ignored, they just won't be our main focus.) Below are a series of lessons that I've developed as part of a course that I teach at College of Southern Nevada, where I'm an Emeritus Professor."

The best part about this site is that it is free - all materials are available via a couple of clicks. Definitely worth a look!
